João Maria Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, "Sleeping on a bullet train", 2014–2015. 16 mm film, värviline, optiline heli. 8 min.

16 mm artist’s film programme “Sleep Through the Present” was curated by artist Paul Kuimet. The film programme was presented at Filmilindifestival 2019 at Järva-Jaani Vanatehnika Varjupaik.

Selected films were set in a dialogue with the surrounding nature at Järva-Jaani, the shelter of motor vehicles and the old lorry called the Cathedral where the films were projected. Film-makers have used a variety of cinematic techniques to create their works – time-lapse photography, slow motion or using the camera as an experimental writing tool.
