The discussion “The Role of Photography in Critical Times” was summoned by FOKU and took place part of the Opinion Festival in 2022 at the “War and Peace” area on Friday, August 12 from 12:00.
Different parties were in discussion about photography made during peaceful and war times. How it affects us and how we could become better at reading and creating photography.
Toomas Järvet, the curator at Juhan Kuus Documentary Photo Centre, Annika Haas, the photographer and the curator at the Museum of Photography in Tallinn, Marge Monko, the artist and head of the Photography Department at the Estonian Academy of Arts and Erik Prozes, the photojournalist and the head of the Photographic Editorial board in Postimees were in discussion during the event. The talk was moderated by Anneli Porri, the art historian and critic, the head of and professor at the Art Education Department at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
